Content I’ve consumed this week

One of the things about getting a bit more used to lockdown is that I’ve been able to engage with a lot more content from blogs, webinars, training sessions, online chats and tons in-between. It would be great to hear what you think of the resources outlined below and if you’ve found your own gems this week.

Here’s a round-up of some of the great things that I’ve consumed this week:

Communications in times of crisis

ACE Webinar

Exploring the HR and people issues raised by the crisis such as remote working, staff morale and more. Chris Young, executive managing director at Tony Gee w...

Standout presentation from Harriet Hindmarsh from AECOM about how they’re tackling the crisis – yes none of us are as massive as AECOM but you can certainly adopt some of the thought processes they’re using to work through this.  Plus hats off for the gorgeous graphics too (once a marketer, always a marketer!!).

Managing virtual teams

The PRCA published a lovely piece by Jo Field from JFG Communications about her virtual communications agency with useful hints and tips on how to manage and lead teams virtually and even how to train an intern.

CIPR Guide

The CIPR released a really useful guide on how companies should communicate with employees who have been furloughed.  Employers need to be aware so that they don’t fall on the wrong side of the HMRC/Government when it comes to meeting the criteria for receiving support from these schemes. This is certainly one that should be circulated to all boards and team leaders for clear guidance.

Help I’ve been furloughed

I published a blog this week taking an employees’ viewpoint of being furloughed. It’s a tricky time for everyone with a lot of unknowns so lots to pick through. I’ve also touched on some of the steps that can be taken to try and figure out your next steps.

Health and Wellbeing

Emma Gannon podcast interview

I listened to this one when I was doing my daily walk treading the pavements of SW12. Emma was interviewing Selina Barker who gave some brilliant advice on how to stay sane when working from home and to not expect too much of yourself.  It’s not business as usual. This one really did make me stop and think.
