Stop hiding behind your business - it's time to show who YOU are
As a marketing consultant for many of the projects I'm currently doing and people I am meeting, one thing that has repeatedly struck me is that try as we might, but we can’t get away from the fact that 'people do business with people'.
You may not want to steal the limelight from the rest of your team or feel that the business speaks for itself, but I’ve got news for you, it kind of doesn’t.
People want to know who they’re doing business with, and this is why personal brands are so important. They want to know who you are, your values, your personality, what it would be like to work with you in reality; so your marketing and content should show who YOU are. And no, it’s not about you being boastful or showing off if you talk about yourself. It's ultimately about being transparent.
Business leaders with stories to share
When I meet business leaders, they’ve often got amazing stories to share, impressive beliefs and values systems and a vault of amazing stories behind their business, their clients, their projects and themselves. This is where the magic, the USP, of your business is often YOU.
It's really where the true value of a business lies; in its people, so it's important to communicate this.
And honestly, it’s such an honour to get to speak to so many amazing people and give them the words and profile they truly deserve.
So go on, what really makes you special and stand out from the crowd? I'd love to know. Oh, and once you've figured it out, don't forget to shout it from the rooftops.
